This day-long event is an initiative of the Brussels-Capital Region, together with Flanders and Wallonia.

Brussels Environment

Brussels Environment‘s mission is to reconcile the needs and expectations of users with the preservation of the biological heritage of the Sonian Forest.It coordinates the activities of the Day of the Sonian Forest with its partners in the other two regions, in accordance with the philosophy of the structural scheme.

“Het Agentschap voor Natuur en Bos” (ANB – the Agency for Nature and Forests), is the body mandated by the Flemish Region for the maintenance, protection and development of nature in Flanders.The Agency implements a sustainable management policy, focussing on strengthening the natural environment, in coordination with all its partners.

The Department of Nature and Forests

The Department of Nature and Forests (DNF) assures the multifunctional role of forests, by coordinating the development of management plans, the monitoring of forest certification (…) and the development of the genetic potential of forests. The DNF also provides the mapping that is vital for managing forests and the natural environment.

Toerisme Vlaams-Brabant vzw

Tourism Flemish Brabant is the overarching and coordinating department for tourism policy at the provincial level where the province Flemish Brabant, Toerisme Vlaanderen, municipalities and supralocal tourist-recreational organizations participate. Tourism Flemish Brabant aims to develop and execute the tourism policy for the province of Flemish Brabant. The promotion and marketing of the tourism-recreational offer in the two green regions Hageland and the Groene Gordel and in the city of art Leuven are a priority.
